Media Services at Providence Health Care provides effective media production services in support of all aspects of health care at Providence Health Care and affiliated health care organizations.

Our staff offer creative, professional services in the areas of:

• Video production
• Photography & digital imaging
• Graphic art, design & printing
• Audio-visual technical support
• Virtual health/videoconferencing support

For over 20 years Media Services has developed, written, shot and edited professional video productions for Providence Health Care and other health care organizations.  Large budget or very small budget, our experienced video producers Dawne Novakowski, Ming Chang, and David Yoo help clients get the most out of their resources – and we know the health care environment well. 

Our facilities include a large production studio and two professional, digital video equipment packages for shooting in-house or on location.  And we have three professional digital editing suites to edit and package your video.

Medical photography, portraits, imaging for promotional and educational purposes,  scientific photography, press conferences and special events - we offer a wide range of professional photography services for in-hospital and location shoots. 

Whether in our studio or on location, we use state of the art digital cameras, lighting and photo imaging software. And we offer digital image enhancing and photo manipulation using the latest digital tools.

We have kept pace with the continually evolving graphics and design space by offering creative production ideas and services that fit the changing needs and changing budgets of health care. 

Conference posters, promotional graphics and posters, workplace health and safety reminders, medical illustration, logo development and printing services – we  are a full service graphics department. And we use the most current graphics design and imaging software to help you get the most out of any budget.

Media Services is located in the St. Paul’s Hospital Conference Centre. We offer no charge loan-out equipment and reliable technical support and assistance to anyone at any of the Providence Health Care sites. And, if you need technical assistance full time for your event, we offer our services for an hourly fee. 

Our loan out equipment includes:

• LCD projectors
• Flat screen TVs and DVD players
• PA systems
• Portable Speakers
• Flip Charts
• Other equipment to make your meeting run smoothly

We will also orient you to any of the built-in equipment in our large lecture theatres if you want to do it yourself.

St. Paul’s Hospital Conference Centre includes five virtual health access rooms. All are supported and booked through the Media Services Centre. We have three large lecture halls, one medium sized conference rooms and one small seminar room. We offer booking and dedicated technical support for virtual health services on a fee-for-service basis – which helps us support and maintain our equipment and services.

The Providence Health Care Media Services Centre is located at St. Paul’s Hospital in downtown Vancouver. The hospital’s main entrance is on Burrard Street between Comox and Davie.
