Preparing for your visit

To visit our clinic, you need a referral. Your maternity provider or other specialists can refer you.

Please contact us to confirm any referral requirements.

Once we receive your referral, we will contact you to schedule an appointment.

Getting ready

  • Be aware that your first visit can take up to two hours.
  • If you do not speak English or use sign language, please let us know in advance. We provide language and sign language interpreters for free.
  • Please note any changes in your condition since your last visit.
  • As a patient, you have certain rights and responsibilities. Please review these rights and responsibilities ahead of time.
  • All Providence Health Care hospitals and residences are scent-free environments. Please do not wear scented products.
  • Need to cancel or change your appointment? Call the Clinic within 48 hours of your appointment. This allows us time to schedule other patients: 604-806-8735, Extension 3.

What to bring

  • A valid ID, such as a driver's license or passport.
  • Your BC Services Card.
  • A list of all medications you are currently taking, including dosages.
  • Names of other medical care providers that you see.
  • Questions and concerns that you would like addressed by the team.

Questions to ask your care team

Preparing a list of questions in advance can help you make the most of your visit. Here are some options to consider asking:

  • What is my diagnosis, and what are the available treatment options?
  • Are there any potential risks or side effects associated with the recommended treatment?
  • What lifestyle changes or self-care measures can I take to improve my condition?
  • Are there any complementary treatments worth considering?
  • Will Medical Services Plan (MSP) cover everything? If not, should I plan for any extra costs?
