It’s never easy being in hospital. But we will do our best to make your stay as comfortable as possible. If you’re not sure about any available services, please ask your care team.

Meal services

Good nutrition is an important part of your health journey. At St. Paul’s Hospital, you will receive a menu each day at breakfast to select your meals for the next day. This menu is based on the diet your doctor prescribes (gives you). If your doctor prescribes a special diet, a dietitian will visit you as soon as possible. The dietitian will talk to you about the food you should eat while in the hospital and when you go home.

Your family members can bring you your favourite foods from home. Most wards have fridges for patients to store personal food. Before bringing food from home, please check with the dietitian about any dietary restrictions you may have. Each ward also has apple and orange drinks. Ask a member of your care team if you want a drink.

Patient meals are served at these times:

  • Breakfast: 7:45 to 9:15 a.m.
  • Lunch: 12 noon to 1:15 p.m.
  • Dinner: 4:45 to 6.15 p.m.
