Health information is a vital resource to support your health care in B.C.​. Health Information Management (HIM) is a department of Providence Health Care (PHC). HIM is a leader in collecting, storing and using patient information in BC. HIM has staff at about 40 locations​ across PHC, Fraser Health, Provincial Health Services Authority and Vancouver Coastal Health.

HIMConnect.ca is a centralized hub for health information resources. This hub is available to patients, physicians and clinicians, researchers, and institutions across Lower Mainland, Vancouver Island and the Okanagan.

Some of your health records are also available online through Health Gateway. Health Gateway is the provincial patient portal. Examples of what you can find in Health Gateway include:

• Lab results
• Medications
• Immunization history
• Health visits
• Hospital visits
• COVID-19 proof of vaccination
• Organ donor registry information

PharmaNet is a secure computer network that links all community pharmacies throughout BC. It has been in place since 1995. PharmaNet contains up-to-date information about all prescriptions dispensed to you anywhere in BC. Pharmacists use PharmaNet to monitor your drug therapy. This way, they can prevent potentially harmful medication interactions, unintended prescription duplications, and drug fraud and abuse.

Access to PharmaNet data is only available to certain health care providers. These include authorized health professionals and staff who work in a hospital or a designated mental health facility. These providers use Pharmanet as a tool to assist with the treatment and care of patients. PharmaNet is managed by the Ministry of Health with input from the College of Pharmacists of BC and the College of Physicians and Surgeons of BC.
