Providence Health Care Board of Directors

Dale Telfer joined the Providence Health Care Board in June 2025.

Dale has had a diverse banking career spanning 37 years. He is a recognized financial/real estate executive and trusted advisor across the commercial real estate (CRE) sector, as well as an effective board director.

Prior to his retirement from HSBC, including a leadership transition role with RBC’s acquisition of HSBC’s CRE business, Dale held numerous senior leadership positions across corporate credit, branch management, and corporate/real estate banking. Instrumental in establishing HSBC’s CRE group in 2008, he was responsible for the Western Canada CRE banking business until 2024. He is passionate about team building, talent management, and helping people reach their career objectives. Dale is an award-winning mentor and was recognized by the Association of Women in Finance with a PEAK award in the Champion category.

Dale attained his business degree from the University of Saskatchewan. He is proud of his prairie roots, with core values rooted in his long-term approach to doing business and building relationships. His commitment to community is focused in the areas of health care and education. He has held numerous roles with BC Children’s Hospital, including Chair of the Bank’s Division for Miracle Weekend. He is a former Board Director and Finance Committee member at the boys’ school, Vancouver College.
