What You Will Do
Summary
The Integrated Youth Services Collaboration Centre (IYS-CC) is a new and unique initiative launched by Providence Health Care in partnership with the Centre for Addictions and Mental Health (CAMH) and in collaboration with Integrated Youth Services initiatives in Canada. The IYS-CC, while closely affilitated with Foundry, is an independent initiative and its activities are coordinated with a CAMH team of professionals.
We are seeking a Leader, Knowledge Exchange & Mobilization, who will be responsible for leading the knowledge exchange and mobilization (KEMb) program and IYS workforce development at the IYS-CC. Reporting to the Pan-Canadian Director, Integrated Youth Services Collaboration Centre (IYS-CC), the Leader will:
- Provide leadership and expertise in the development, project management and implementation of the KEMb program and workforce education and training program, supporting the ongoing growth of the IYS model across Canada, with primary goal of improving health and social outcomes for youth and young adults accessing integrated youth services.
- Ensure that specific KEMb projects and initiatives are aligned with organizational (i.e. the IYS-CC) goals, objectives and priorities.
- Lead the identification of knowledge and workforce training needs and the delivery and implementation of evidence-based and wise practices for IYS for the pan-Canadian IYS audiences including policy makers, planners, clinicians, peer support workers, youth and families, etc.
- Engage in the development of evidence-informed knowledge products that can be used and delivered through a variety of mediums (e.g., paper-based, multimedia) and communication channels such as policies and procedures, education and training programs, online instructional services that support the delivery of integrated care for youth and young adults.
What You Bring
Education, Training and Experience:
Master’s degree in health sciences, social sciences, health research, communications, policy or related field plus five (5) to seven (7) years’ recent, related experience including knowledge exchange and mobilization, the delivery of education and training programs, leadership and project management, and facilitating collaboration with a wide range of stakeholder groups or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.
Skills and Abilities:
- Demonstrated understanding of knowledge exchange and mobilization approaches (e.g., networking, product development, engagement activities, dissemination, co-production, evaluation, etc.)
- Demonstrated ability to design, organize, facilitate and evaluate knowledge sharing events such as stakeholder meetings, webinars, community forums and other engagement activities.
- Demonstrated success in knowledge mobilization project delivery and execution of project management methods.
- Experience overseeing, developing and implementing comprehensive and innovative education and training programs that align with adult learning principles.
- Demonstrated ability to develop and implement education and training flexibly using multiple modalities, including in-person, online, self-paced and group-based.
- Knowledge of content design, delivery and evaluation of learning modules/programs.
Demonstrated ability to facilitate and promote collaboration and change management, and work both independently and within a team environment. - Knowledge of and ability to conduct research on clinical best practices and incorporate into a variety of knowledge exchange products.
- Ability to synthesize information from stakeholders to inform online learning content design, delivery and communication.
- Demonstrated familiarity with use of online learning and knowledge exchange platforms.
- Ability to teach and coach.
- Verbal and written communication skills, including report writing and presentation skills. Expertise in plain language writing is an asset.
- Demonstrated leadership, coaching, and mentoring skills to ensure a working environment that supports effective service delivery.
- Strong interpersonal and dispute-resolution skills to effectively deal with a variety of stakeholders both internal and external to the organization.
- Demonstrated problem-solving and decision-making abilities to address complex and diverse systems, which could have a significant impact on youth.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively as a member of a team to organize and prioritize workload in a complex environment.
- Knowledge and understanding of the Truth and Reconciliation Calls to Action and the United Nations Declaration on the Rights of Indigenous Peoples (UNDRIP), and the PHC’s signatory to the Declaration of Cultural Safety and Humility.
- Ability to travel for meetings as necessary.
- Physical ability to carry out the duties of the position.
- Fluency in French (spoken and written) is an asset.

Your Day to Day:
- Working with the Pan-Canadian Director (IYS-CC), provides leadership in the development, project management and implementation of the Integrated Youth Services Collaboration Centre, a pan-Canadian backbone team for existing, emerging, or proposed networks of IYS centres/hubs in Canadian provinces and territories.
- Leads the development and implementation of a knowledge exchange and mobilization program to support the establishment and growth of the IYS model in all provinces and territories, and the delivery and implementation of evidence-based and wise practices for IYS for national and international audiences including policy makers, researchers, planners, clinicians, peer support workers, youth and families, etc.
- Provides leadership and expertise in the development, project management and implementation of a workforce education and training program and related strategies and activities that support the IYS-CC network and the associated IYS workforce to build their capacity to deliver high quality, evidence-based services to young people and their families/caregivers, consistent with Integrated Youth Services principles.
- Leverages existing and emerging service delivery, clinical and best practice resources across the IYS-CC network and partner organizations to implement and evaluate training, education, and practice support programs that demonstrate high levels of engagement, enhanced knowledge, increased skills, and alignment with the IYS workforce needs and expectation.
- Leads the development, project management and implementation of knowledge mobilization strategies and activities that support the meaningful use of evidence and expertise to align research, policy and practice in order to improve health and social outcomes for youth and young adults.
- Leads the development, planning, implementation, management and evaluation of knowledge content, products, communications and promotional materials to support the knowledge synthesis, translation and dissemination of evidence-based IYS best practice and expertise into shareable knowledge products (such as webinars, videos, website content,social media, reports, guides, policy briefs, and plain language summaries).
- Leads the development and coordination of knowledge exchange and mobilization activities including meetings, events, communities of practice, consultations, conferences or summits or other activities either in person or virtual develops materials, leads and facilitates discussions and workshops and/or arranges speakers.
- Leads the implementation and enhancement of IYS-CC learning systems including the learning management system, eLearning authoring tools, audio-visual equipment and software.
- Develops and maintains long-term relationships with pan-Canadian IYS partners and jurisdictions to identify information needs, share information, and create opportunities for partnership.
- Works to incorporate knowledge needs into processes for the generation of new knowledge alongside IYS researchers, evaluators, data and practice leaders and incorporate into curricula, policies, procedures, guidelines, reference materials, learning materials and other knowledge products.
- Identifies and develops indicators to monitor and evaluate uptake and integration of new knowledge, courses and learning for intended audiences, compiles information and advises on adaptation and further development of the capacity building and knowledge exchange program. Recommends, develops and implements improvements to knowledge exchange and mobilization strategies.
- Supports the implementation of strategies/initiatives to advance IYS-CC’s overarching vision, goals and objectives both within the IYS-CC network, and more broadly, to elevate IYS-CC’s profile and impact as a leader in IYS.
- Develops and manages any project-related budget and monitors expenditures to ensure projections and targets are met, reporting on any variances.
- Facilitates and maintains relationship between IYS-CC and vendors/partners and negotiates contracts to support knowledge mobilization, education and training deliverables.
- Provides leadership and direction to own staff including onboarding and orientation, professional development, coaching and mentoring staff, monitoring and evaluating performance of duties, and other human resource related duties. If required, administers disciplinary action in coordination with Human Resources, up to and including termination.
- Plans, coordinates and implements special projects as required.
- Performs other related duties as required.
