About this clinic

Providence Breast Centre at Mount Saint Joseph Hospital (MSJ) is a leader in working to give women with breast cancer better outcomes.

The disease accounts for 28 per cent of all cancer diagnoses for BC women and is the most common cancer among these women.

The Providence Breast Centre provides all the tests and exams you need for a confirmed breast-cancer diagnosis at MSJ. Our specialists follow you closely so you get everything you need in one place. This reduces time and stress.

Providence Breast Centre offers:

  • Diagnostic digital mammogram
  • Diagnostic ultrasound
  • Physical examination by a breast specialist
  • Ultrasound-guided biopsy

The team at the Breast Centre also coordinates further care or treatment you may need. The team may refer you to the BC Cancer Agency for radiation and chemotherapy. It organizes surgeries such as lumpectomy, mastectomy and breast reconstruction if you need those procedures.

Clinical trials & research

Advances in treatments are all thanks to medical research. While participating in research is a decision you should make for yourself in consultation with your care team, there is much activity in this area so please ask us about our research programs if you’re interested.

By taking part in research, you can help us all learn more about advancing health outcomes and find better ways to help people live and thrive. While you cannot assume benefit to yourself, your participation can make a difference in improving care for future patients.

The following clinical trials are currently enrolling volunteers. Please ask your care team for more information or contact the research team listed on each study or trial. For other information about research at Providence Health Care, please visit Providence Research.
