Asthma Clinic

Preparing for your visit

To get the most out of your appointment and to have a smooth experience, here are some tips for planning your visit:

  • Our staff will speak with you in English. If you are not fluent in English, please bring an adult interpreter with you who is able stay for the entire test.
  • If you do not speak English and need an interpreter (at no cost to you), please let us know in advance.
  • If you need a sign language interpreter (at no cost to you), please let us know in advance.
  • Please do not wear scented products. All Providence Health Care’s hospitals and residences are scent-free environments.

What to bring

  • Your BC Services Card (patients from outside BC and Canada need to provide their medical insurance information).
  • A list of all your current medications.
  • Your puffers.
  • All doctor, X-ray, CT scans or laboratory reports in your possession. You could also bring a list with names and phone numbers of all the doctors involved in your treatment. This should include all the places where you've done X-rays or blood tests.
  • A list of questions you want to ask the doctor.
  • Name, phone number and fax number of your pharmacy.

Transportation & parking

Remember to allow time (approximately 30 minutes) before your appointment to get from your car or transit to the clinic area. If you are new to the clinic and need directions when you arrive at St. Paul’s Hospital, ask a volunteer or reception for directions to our front door. Please remember the name of the clinic to get the best assistance.
