You never know what’s around the corner. You may be healthy one day, and the next an accident or illness could happen. If you are not able to communicate with others about the health care you would wish or refuse, someone else will be asked to decide for you.
Info for Rehab Patients + Families
Holy Family Hospital (HFH) is one of the largest referral centres for rehabilitation in British Columbia.
Providence Health Care’s rehabilitation services at HFH include a 65-bed inpatient rehabilitation unit and extensive treatment areas that facilitate more than 15,000 outpatient visits annually. The program offers intensive therapy for older adults to overcome obstacles caused by strokes, arthritis, orthopedic trauma or major surgeries like hip, ankle or knee replacements and leg amputations. The program is designed to help patients fully recover or adapt to irreparable damage.
Well Wishes Email Service
Our dedicated volunteers are pleased to personally deliver a well-wishes email to a patient in Holy Family Hospital. Send an email that includes the patient’s full name, unit and room number, along with your written message, and it will be hand-delivered by a volunteer. This service is intended for well-wishes only. Other messages that contain matters of business or inappropriate content will be deleted. Please do not send confidential information. Even though Providence staff treat patient messages as private documents, we do recommend that you do not send confidential items using this system. This service is only for message delivery. Patients are unable to send a response through this service. Send your message to firstname.lastname@example.org.
If you do not speak or understand English well enough to have conversations about your health, we can book an interpreter (at no cost). Interpreter Services are available 24-hours-a-day. For daily communication, we can use various tools, such as pictures and translated cards.
Patients, residents, and family members can ask a member of the health care team to place a request for an interpreter. For more information click here.
