'Accredited with Exemplary Standing'

In February 2023, Accreditation Canada granted Providence Health Care the designation of “Accredited with Exemplary Standing” for the third consecutive time. This is the highest standing awarded.

Accreditation is an ongoing process of evaluating and recognizing a program or service as meeting established standards. It is a powerful tool for quality improvement. Accreditation Canada’s Qmentum accreditation program provides evidence-informed standards, tools, resources, and guidance to health care and social services organizations on their journey to excellence.

Ensuring the highest standards of conduct

We created a Standards of Conduct Policy to establish minimum standards of conduct for all PHC staff. The policy covers areas such as:

  • Integrity
  • Public communication
  • Political activity
  • Misuse of property, services and information
  • Gifts
  • Conflict of interest
  • Personal, professional and working relationships
  • Outside remuneration and volunteer work
