Speech Language Pathologist
SummaryReporting to the Professional Practice Leader, Speech Language Pathology, provides comprehensive diagnostic and therapeutic services for primarily neurologically impaired adults with communication and/or swallowing problems, counseling to patients and caregivers, consultation to staff and community agencies, inservice education, teaching and student supervision.
SkillsDemonstrated ability to work collaboratively as a member of an interdisciplinary team. Demonstrated ability to work effectively with patients and families when assessing and treating communication and/or swallowing disorders. Ability to provide supervision and teaching to students. Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing. Ability to deal with others effectively. Physical ability to carry out the duties of the position. Ability to organize and prioritize work. Ability to operate related equipment.
EducationMaster’s Degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited university. Eligible for certification with the Canadian Association of Speech-Language Pathologists and Audiologists (CASLPA) and membership with the British Columbia Association of Speech-Language Pathologists and Audiologists (BCASPLA).
