This Addictions Liaison Consult CNL/Educator role is an integral part of the Addictions Medicine Consult Team. In this role you will support programs and units throughout St. Paul’s Hospital with assessment, education, and training on best practices for addictions care. You must have at least 2 years of acute experience caring for and supporting clients across the mental health and substance use continuum including evidence based treatment and care. You must have experience working with under-served and hard to reach populations, providing trauma-informed care and have experience with harm reduction.


Reporting to the Operations Leader, the Clinical Nurse Leader/Nurse Educator coordinates the day to day operations of a designated service and acts as a clinical resource to nursing staff and interdisciplinary team members in the provision of direct care to patients. Assists in the promotion of research and quality improvement initiatives within the program. Receiving work direction from the Chief Nursing Officer, the Clinical Nurse Leader/Nurse Educator provides visible, accessible clinical support to the nursing staff as an education resource for staff in the clinical areas. Develops, implements and evaluates educational programs for nursing staff.


Baccalaureate Degree in Nursing plus two years of recent related experience or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience. Current registration with the College of Registered Nurses of British Columbia. Current Basic Cardiac Life Support Certification.
