SummaryReporting to the Professional Practice Leader, receives patients referred by Otolaryngologists for assessment of ear, hearing, and balance disorders. Performs audiologic and vestibular test battery specific to the patient’s representing problems. Reports findings and rehabilitative recommendations to the referring Physician.

EducationCurrent registration with the College of Speech and Hearing Professionals of British Columbia plus two years’ recent related experience.
DutiesEvaluates hearing status of referred patients through the administration of an audiology test battery. Performs and interprets tests of vestibular function, and auditory electrophysiological tests, including Cortical Auditory Evoked Potentials. Performs a range of test procedures to assess adequacy of amplification devices.
Records and interprets test results and makes rehabilitative recommendations to referring Physicians. Discusses hearing status and possible rehabilitative strategies with patients, and ensures follow-up when necessary.
Monitors test equipment performance to ensure equipment is functioning, reporting malfunctions to Director in order to arrange for repair.
Maintains patient test results, workload measurement data, and statistics as required and completes required documentation utilized for billing procedures.
Provides instruction regarding audiologic test procedures for Residents, Interns, and other staff as required.
Performs other related duties as assigned.
