Providence Health Care provides emergency services for Vancouver’s downtown city centre and East Vancouver residents at our two acute care hospitals.
St. Paul’s Hospital open 24 hours a day has one of the busiest emergency departments in the province, providing care for a wide range of patients, including some of the most vulnerable and marginalized populations. Mt. St. Josephs operates a community hospital Emergency Department open from 8:30 a.m. until 8 p.m. daily. The department sees almost 23,000 patients a year, and offers full primary and secondary Emergency services to Vancouver’s East Side residents, as well as providing specific multicultural services.
