On the evening of July 16, 2020 the Public Health Office declared an outbreak at the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) at St. Paul’s Hospital.
UPDATE: On July 29, 2020, the Medical Health Officer declared the COVID-19 outbreak for the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) at St. Paul’s Hospital over. We thank VCH’s Medical Health Officer and PHC team members for their quick action in addressing this outbreak. We also thank the patients and their families for their patience and kindness during this time.
The main NICU is now open and fully operational. The Maternity unit was not part of the outbreak and continues to remain open and operational. The new protocols requiring parents visiting their babies in the NICU to wear a mask and sign a visitor log remain in place.
