New HUB at St. Paul’s Hospital to provide treatment and follow up for people with mental-health and/or substance-use challenges

New HUB at St. Paul’s Hospital to  provide treatment and follow up for people with mental-health and/or substance-use challenges.

It's the first emergency care model of its kind in BC: two fully equipped units next to the hospital's Emergency Department  to care for patients, from their arrival at the ED to their transition back to their communities.
Specialists will provide these patients with culturally appropriate, trauma-informed care in a dignified, private setting.
HUB also includes a clinic where specialized addictions nurses and physicians can treat people dependant on a variety of substances, including opioids, & provide them replacement therapy.

GUEST: Dr. Bill MacEwan - St. Paul’s psychiatrist. Works in the DTES.
