St. Paul’s Hospital testing new CPR trial for heart attack sufferers
A first of its kind trial is set to hit St Paul’s Hospital in an attempt to increase the survival rate of people who have heart attacks.
At the core of the trial is the Lucas 2, a machine that attaches to the chest of the patient and continuously administers compressions when CPR is not an option.
Paramedic Brian Twaites says the machine is game changing, especially in the transport of the patient.
