Vice President, Human Resources and General Counsel
Zulie Sachedina was appointed Vice President of Human Resources and General Counsel in 2001. In her current role at Providence, Zulie is responsible and accountable for the human resources functions within Providence, including employee services, learning and organizational change, compensation and benefits, labour relations, occupational health and safety and staff scheduling. She also manages all legal matters, including risk management and privacy issues which arise within the organization.
Zulie came to Providence with more than 15 years of experience in health and human resource management, human rights, international development and administrative law. She holds a Masters of Health Science as well as a law degree from the University of Toronto. She was called to the Law Society of Upper Canada in 1992 and the Law Society of BC in 2001. Zulie is an instructor for the UBC Masters of Health Administration program and a Trustee of the Heathcare Benefit Trust. Zulie is also Chair of the Ismaili International Conciliation and Arbitration Board.
