How to find us

From the Burrard Street Entrance:

  • Follow the blue line (on the floor) to the elevators on Level 2 of the Providence Building. To get there you will need to climb one flight of stairs. (If you cannot, please use the Link Elevator at the bottom of the stairs).
  • Take the elevator to the 8th floor of the Providence Building.
  • Go to 8B (on the east side of the elevators). Both the Pacific Lung Health Centre and the Pulmonary Function Lab (for breathing tests) are located on the 8th floor.
  • If you park in the underground parking at St Paul's, use the lower level parkade. Then, take the elevators to the 8th floor. Proceed to 8B.
  • If you are lost, an information booth is on the main floor next to the Burrard Street entrance.

From the Thurlow Street Entrance:

  • When you enter, you will be on Level 2 of the Providence Building. Take the elevator to the 8th floor of the Providence Building.
  • Go to 8B (on the east side of the elevators). Both the Pacific Lung Health Centre and the Pulmonary Function Lab (for breathing tests) are located on the 8th floor.
  • If you park in the underground parking at St Paul's, use the lower level parkade. Then, take the elevators to the 8th floor. Proceed to 8B.

Note to Sunshine Coast residents:
A Pacific Lung Health Centre respirologist also sees patients at Sechelt Hospital. Scheduling is handled through the Pacific Lung Health Centre.
 

About this clinic

The Pacific Lung Health Centre (PLHC), also known as the Pacific Lung Clinic, is an academic clinical program dedicated to caring for patients with lung disease. The Centre sees more than 12,000 patients each year for all respiratory conditions. All members of the PLHC are part of the University of British Columbia, Faculty of Medicine.

The Pacific Lung Health Centre houses the following specialty clinics:

  • Sunday: Closed
  • Monday: 8:00 am to 4:30 pm
  • Tuesday: 8:00 am to 4:30 pm
  • Wednesday: 8:00 am to 4:30 pm
  • Thursday: 8:00 am to 4:30 pm
  • Friday: 8:00 am to 4:30 pm
  • Saturday: Closed

Closed weekends and holidays.

Clinical trials & research

St. Paul’s Hospital and Providence Health Care are committed to researching new solutions to help people with breathing conditions.

The Pacific Lung Research Centre at St. Paul's Hospital conducts studies in many respiratory disease areas. These include:

  • Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease (such as bronchitis and emphysema)
  • Interstitial lung disease and idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis
  • Chronic cough
  • Cystic fibrosis
  • Asthma and other areas.

Please speak with your respirologist to see if you qualify for these studies. If you have been diagnosed with a respiratory disease, you may also contact the research staff at 604-806-9485 or 604-806-8117 for more information. Physicians can contact the research office at 604-806-8117 to refer a patient for a study, or to discuss clinical trials.
