Vancouver doctor leads team to reduce lung infections globally (Dr. Don Sin)
A new online tool aims make strides in reducing chronic lung disease that affects millions worldwide.
That's according to Dr Don Sin with St. Paul's Hospital, who says this new website with info gathered from doctors, tracks the progression of Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease over 10 years to find which treatments work best.
“What that enables us to do is really target and individualize therapy for each patient,” he says. “For those who will progress very fast, we will intensify therapies and drugs, for those who have very stable disease, we could potentially back-off on things, or recommend some other interventions that are more mild to moderate in nature.”
