Vancouver HIV/Aids expert in high demand out of province (Dr. Julio Montaner)
HIV/AIDS outbreaks in the United States and elsewhere in Canada have a renowned B.C. expert heading to the airport to help out.
Health minister Terry Lake says Doctor Julio Montaner is in talks with Saskatchewan where health officials have seen a spike in people contracting the disease.
Lake says that province is interested in Montaner’s strategy of early treatment of high risk patients to prevent infections and reduce deaths.
