St. Paul’s takes dialysis treatment award
A prestigious award won by St. Paul’s hospital may inspire change to dialysis treatment nationwide.
Operations Leader for the dialysis unit Michele Trask says they won the “3M Health Care Quality Team Award” after redesigning the way treatment was provided.
“We sort of looked at…if we collocate the patients with more similar needs into sub-units, or we call them pods, then are we better able to individualize and tailor the care to specific patients. And the answer that we found was yes.”
