Vancouver man charged in random hammer attacks (St. Paul's Hospital)
A 27-year-old man has been charged in connection to a couple of random hammer attacks that sent two men to hospital with serious injuries on Sunday night.
Tyrone Wayne Machiskinic of Vancouver has been charged with two counts of aggravated assault and one count of the possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose.
Jerome Bonneric, 33 was charged with four counts of aggravated assault, four counts of assault with a weapon, three counts of common assault and one count of assaulting an officer at the Barclay Street building.
Bonneric admitted to the crime, but pleaded not guilty because of a mental illness. He had been in St. Paul’s Hospital just days before the attack. Seven people, ranging from their 20s to 60s, were treated for serious stab wounds on Jan. 31, 2013.
