Students collect 50 jackets for third annual drive at St. Paul's Hospital
The students and families of St. Augustine's Elementary School in Vancouver recently worked together on their third annual jacket drive, led by the Grade 6 class.
Students reached out to friends and family members, collecting over 50 gently used men's and women's jackets for St. Paul's Hospital clothing depot. It provides clothing to those in need, especially those in medical crisis.
Four Grade 6 children, along with school secretary, delivered the jackets on March 6 to the volunteer resources department at St. Paul's, which manages the depot. They had a tour of the area, were told how staff managed the depot and accessed items, and helped to place the donations on the shelves. It was a terrific opportunity for the students to put social awareness into action.
