Remember Me With A Flower
Many donations are motivated by the care received at one of our facilities. Catherine Cheung’s was also inspired by her dying aunt’s love of the beautiful flower artwork at Marion Hospice.
In her final days, Catherine Cheung and her aunt Wanda Chu would slowly stroll up and down the halls of Marion Hospice. They would always stop at the donor wall, where dozens of families had paid tribute to lives of loved ones. She felt inspired by pastel illustrations on the wall panels that featured a park scene with a flowering tree and dozens of birds, buds and flowers placed along the branches. One day she pointed to a red flower and said to her niece, “That’s how I want to be remembered.”
Catherine honored this special wish when her aunt passed away. She contacted Tapestry Foundation and made a donation in the category represented by the flower her aunt had admired.
