  POLICIES FOR THE MEDIA
Media relations is a priority for the Communications Department at Providence Health Care. You can reach us anytime by paging 604-252-4261 (24/7).

We will do the legwork for you - tracking down the information, coordinating interviews with physicians, staff, researchers and patients, and escorting media on our sites.

The following policies are in place to protect patient, resident and employee confidentiality, as legislated under the Freedom of Information and Protection of Privacy Act.

All media calls must be directed to the Communications and Public Relations Department. No media interviews can be done unless cleared through Communications.

All media representatives visiting Providence sites must be escorted in and out of the facility by Communications personnel (or designate).

Communications must receive written consent from patients prior to being interviewed, filmed, or photographed. Documentary film producers must submit a written synopsis about their project to Communications. If consent to film is given, a written agreement must be signed.
