The Pre-Transplant Clinic acts as a referral and assessment service where patients awaiting transplants and potential donors are seen. The Pre-Transplant team helps determine which donor matches are possible and prepares everyone involved for what to expect throughout the transplant process. Pre-transplant services include: assessment of potential recipients, activation of recipients onto the transplant list, assessment of potential kidney donors, organizing living donor surgeries, follow-up and ongoing assessment of patients on the active waiting list, follow-up of donors after surgery, and education of patients.
