Summary

Reporting to the Chief of Professional Practice and Nursing or designate, provides wound/ ostomy care consultation and educational services within the designated program. The Educator, Wound, Ostomy & Skin Care confers and collaborates with the Clinical Nurse Specialist for Wound Care, with interdisciplinary team members and with other Wound/ Ostomy Clinicians/ Educators in British Columbia to develop, plan, implement and evaluate consistent, standards based wound/ ostomy care services and education programs for all staff. Ensures that evidence based wound/ ostomy care clinical interventions are incorporated into client care planning to develop capacity and competence in wound/ ostomy care services. This job requires local area travel (which can be via personal vehicle or by the shuttle service) between the various PHC sites.

Education

Baccalaureate Degree in Nursing, plus two (2) years recent, related advanced wound/ ostomy care experience or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience. Current registration with the College of Registered Nurses of British Columbia. Successful completion of the Wound, Ostomy Continence Nurse Certificate (WOCN), or the Canadian Association of Enterostomal Therapy (CAET) program. Current Basic Cardiac Life Support Course.
