Kip Woodward, Chair

Kip Woodward holds a B.A. in Economics from the University of Western Ontario. He is President of Woodcorp Investments Ltd., which pursues venture capital investments. Over the years, Woodward has represented many organizations as Board Chair including Brentwood College School, The Nature Trust of British Columbia, Hot House Growers Inc. and the Keg Royalty Trust Fund. He is also a member and/or director of many not-for-profit organizations including Canada's Top 40 Under 40, the Provincial Judicial Council and the P.A. Woodward Medical Foundation. [ Close ]

Daniel Nocente, Co-Vice Chair

Daniel is Vice-Chairman, National Bank Financial Group. Prior to joining NBF, Daniel was Vice-Chairman and B.C. Geographic Head for RBC Dominion Securities Inc.. Daniel has worked at various times in Montreal, Toronto, Vancouver and New York. He has a B.A. from the University of British Columbia and an MBA from George Washington University in Washington, D.C. Daniel is active in the Vancouver community. He is the past Chairman of the St. Paul's Hospital Foundation Board and is currently a Director of the following organizations; Vice Chairman and Director, Providence Health Care; Director, Arts Club Theatre Company; Director, Nature Trust of British Columbia; Director, Canada Line. Sandra Heath, Past Chair

Sandra Heath, Past Chair of the Providence Health Care Board of Directors, is President of HTDInc, a Human Resources Consulting organization. She works locally and internationally with organizations to build leadership capacity through the design and delivery of leadership training. Sandra also provides facilitation, and human resources management services as part of her portfolio. She is active in the community and currently volunteers as a director with Bard on the Beach. David Dumaresq graduated from the University of British Columbia with a Bachelor of Commerce degree. A retired businessman, David has over forty years of management experience in the forest products industry, as owner / manager of a forestry company on the B.C. Coast. He is also involved with other charities including St. Vincent’s and Holy Family Health Care Foundation and the Vancouver College Millennium Foundation. David has been married for 47 years and has four grown children.

Geoff Plant

Geoff Plant is a partner in the Vancouver office of the national law firm Heenan Blaikie LLP. During his nine years as a member of the BC Legislative Assembly, he served as Attorney General of British Columbia and Minister responsible for Treaty Negotiations from 2001 to 2005. Since leaving politics Mr. Plant has undertaken a number of public policy projects. From May 2007 until February 2009 he was Vancouver's Civil City Commissioner, where he advanced several initiatives intended to improve support and services to marginalized populations in Vancouver. He also serves on the board of Covenant House Vancouver, the Kaiser Foundation and the Streetohome Foundation. [ Close ] |
Mark Cullen

Mark Cullen is a retired Vice Chairman of RBC Dominion Securities. He is currently a director of British Columbia Ferry Services and has been a director of a number of BC-based companies including Canfor, MacDonald Dettwiler & Associates, and Terasen for which he also served as Chairman. Over the last 20 years, he has been active in community affairs, with a special interest in St. Paul's Hospital where he was a trustee from 1988 to 1996 and Chair in 1992-4. He is an Honourary Director of St. Paul's Hospital Foundation. He is also on the Advisory Board of the Telfer School of Management at the University of Ottawa.

Delores HolmesDuring her career, Delores Holmes has held a number of prestigious positions, such as a member of the Registered Nurses Association of BC Board, Chair of the Value Analyst Task Force for the District of North Vancouver, Member of the Fundraising Committee of Mount Saint Joseph Hospital, Commissioner for the Children's Commission, and Founding Member of the Board of Governors for the Jane Rowan Society.
She is presently a Member of the Retired Judges Association of BC, the Finance Committee of St. Pius X Church, Fundraising Campaign for Little Flower Academy, Commissioner of the Police Complaints Commission, and Chair of the Board of Referees Human Resources Development Council. Mrs. Holmes has a Law Degree from the University of British Columbia.

Bashir Jaffer
| Bashir is a member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of British Columbia and a Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of England & Wales. Bashir has over 30 years of broad and diverse experience in professional, entrepreneurial, and leadership roles in business as well as in national, provincial and local Community organizations. Bashir has experience as the Board Chair and an active Board member for various organizations in the Lower Mainland. He has also served on the Dean's Advisory Board, UBC Faculty of Commerce, and on the Board of the Vancouver Arts Stabilization Team. Currently he is the Chairman of the Ismaili Conciliation & Arbitration Board for BC. [ Close ]

Les Johnson
| Les Johnson joined Providence Health Care as a Special Committee Appointee in 2004 and is a member of the Quality & Performance Improvement Committee of the Board. He is President of a consulting firm, Quantium Inc. The firm is based on the model of Xerox Quality Services and consists of three principals and nine associates located across Canada. Les has also held
various positions with Xerox such as Organizational Effectiveness Manager,
specializing in process management and business excellence assessments in
Vancouver and Toronto. He is also a volunteer with the BC Centre for Quality

John Kitchen is currently the President and CEO of Pacific Regeneration Technologies Inc. (PRT), a firm specializing in the culture of reforestation seedlings. John joined PRT in 1994 after operating his own company for many years. He has a wide range of business, marketing and general management experience, along with many year's experience in volunteer emergency services. John is a member of the Applied Science Technologists and Technicians of British Columbia, and is also a past Director of the Kinsmen Rehabilitation Foundation. [ Close ]

Pierre LeDuc is currently a partner in LeDuc Associates Management Consultants. He is Executive Chairman of the Board of Directors of Ondine Biopharma Inc. of Vancouver, BC., and a member of the Board of Directors of Novx Systems Inc. of Markham, Ontario. Pierre has a wide range of health care knowledge gained from his 30+ years in research, product development, manufacturing, and sales and marketing, most of which were with Baxter Corporation. Sister Marie-Vie is a member of the Missionary Sisters of the Immaculate Conception, the founding Congregation of Mount Saint Joseph Hospital. With Master's in Theology and Pastoral Sociology from the Asian Social Institute, most of her ministry has been in the area of Formation, Animation and Administration. She was the Provincial Superior in the Philippines and in 1994-2000 she served as Assistant General Superior in Montreal, overseeing MIC Sisters in four Asian countries. Dr. Gavin Stuart is Dean of Medicine at UBC and has received both an FRCSC and a FACOG. Dr. Stuart is a noted clinician and researcher whose interests focus mainly in the area of cervical cancer and the conduct of clinical trials as therapeutic interventions in gynecological cancer. Dr. Stuart is Chair for the Gynecology Site Committee of the National Cancer Institute of Canada (NCIC) Clinical Trials Group, a member of the Advisory Committee on Research for the NCIC, and served on the Cancer Surgery Working Group and the Provincial Pharmacy and Therapeutics Committee for the Alberta Cancer Board.
