A FOCUS ON COMMUNITY

At Providence Health Care, our community circle expands beyond our staff, physicians, patients, residents and their families. It also includes hundreds of volunteers and donors, other care providers, those who live or operate businesses near our facilities, and the groups that represent patient populations we serve. In fact Providence Health Care's circle expands to all BC residents, given that we provide specialty care to patients from across the province.

We believe whole-heartedly in community consultation — in learning from those we serve and those who serve with us. It's the only way we can know how you want to be treated, and how we can improve what we do at all levels.

Consultation at Providence Health Care takes a number of forms, including:

A hospital neighborhood advisory committee
Family and resident councils at all of our residential care facilities
Meetings with the community, with business and with other stakeholders
