Msgr. Bernard Rossi
MSGR. BERNARD ROSSI
Msgr. Bernard Rossi has been an integral part of the Providence Health Care Board since 1997 and joined the Society in 2015.
He was a member of the Joint Board that developed the Heads of Agreement to form Providence Health Care in 1997-1999. Msgr. Rossi served on the Board and as Chair of the Society until April 2005. He was re-appointed Episcopal Vicar for Health Care for the Archdiocese of Vancouver, and to the PHC Board and the Society in May 2013.
Msgr. Rossi is a priest of the Vancouver Archdiocese, ordained May 10, 1969. He holds a doctorate in Canon Law, from the Pontifical Gregorian University, Rome, April 1979, and has been pastor at St. Michael’s Parish in Burnaby since July 1989.
He has a particular interest in medical ethics, with an interest and concern for Catholic identity and integrity of Catholic health care institutions. He also has a lively interest in music - opera and symphony, especially Beethoven and Mahler.
