John Nixon joined the Providence Health Care Board in 2012.
John is director of development of the Archdiocese of Vancouver. Prior to starting that position in 2011, he operated his own communications and public affairs consulting firm for 25 years, serving clients in various industries in British Columbia and Alberta. He is currently on the boards of St. Mark’s and Corpus Christi Colleges and Encorp Pacific (Canada). Previously, he served 11 years on the board of directors of Vancouver College, including 10 as chair.
John has a BA from the University of British Columbia and is an accredited member of the Canadian Public Relations Society. After several years coaching football, he enjoys watching a good game. He also enjoys travel, long walks and reading history. John and his wife Suzanne have five children and three grandchildren.
