Bruce Flexman

Bruce Flexman serves as a Director on a number of Boards including Vancouver Economic Commission, Arts Club Theatre Company, Arts Club Foundation, BC Artscape, HIPPY Canada and AdvantageBC. Bruce was the President of AdvantageBC from 2008 until his retirement on June 30, 2014.

During his career at KPMG, Bruce Flexman served on KPMG Canada’s Board of Directors for four years and was elected Chair from 2001 to 2003. Bruce also served for two years on KPMG America’s Board of Directors. He was also responsible for managing the KPMG’s Tax Practice of approximately 900 tax professionals as well as serving as part of KPMG’s executive management committee until his retirement from KPMG in 2007.

Bruce was awarded a Lifetime Achievement Award by the Institute of Chartered Accountants of BC (ICABC) and also received his FCA (Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of British Columbia) for his service to the CA profession and community.

Bruce obtained a degree in Engineering Mathematics from Queen’s University and followed with an MBA with Distinction from Cornell University. In 2013 he completed the Institute of Corporate Directors (ICD) course.

After his family, Bruce’s passion is running, having completed over 20 marathons (including nine Boston marathons) and one sub 3-hour marathon. His active conditioning allows him to continue to enjoy downhill and cross-country skiing, kayaking, cycling and golf.
