  Physiotherapy Services at Providence Health Care

Physiotherapists at Vancouver B.C.’s Providence Health Care (PHC) are dedicated, experienced professionals who provide clinical care across a spectrum of services. At PHC the role of the physiotherapist is to assess all patients and residents and to provide consultation services within an interdisciplinary environment. PHC is a leading teaching and research organization and the provincial referral centre for Cardiac, HIV/AIDS, and Renal care. We are known for our Centres of Excellence and recognized for a number of specialty programs and services across the continuum, from acute to rehabilitation to residential care. PHC physiotherapists have presented at provincial, national, and international conferences and are involved in progressive clinical research. We work closely with the University of British Columbia School of Rehabilitation Sciences and offer clinical placements to students locally, nationally, and internationally.

Acute Care

Mount Saint Joseph Hospital is a community hospital that has a multicultural approach to service delivery and clinical programs. Physiotherapists and physiotherapy assistants are part of the interdisciplinary care team and provide services seven days a week with on call requirements.

St. Paul's Hospital is an acute care, academic and research hospital. With over 500 acute care beds in use and home to many world-class medical and surgical programs, the hospital serves both the local community and patients from across BC.

Rehabilitation Services
Holy Family Hospital is a provincial referral centre providing rehabilitation and residential care to adults in their middle years and beyond and is recognized as a leader in rehabilitation and elder care. Physiotherapists, clinical specialists, and rehabilitation and physiotherapy assistants are part of the interdisciplinary care team and provide services five days a week.

Residential Care

St. Vincent's Hospitals (Brock Fahrni Pavilion and Langara), Youville Residence, Mount Saint Joseph and Holy Family Hospitals provide extended/intermediate care services. Physiotherapists and rehabilitation assistants are part of an interdisciplinary care team and provide services up to six days a week.
