Providence Health Care will pay for all tuition, books and salary, while you learn. Upon successful completion, you will be hired into an existing vacancy and will be required to commit to a minimum of one year in the department.
The following Post Basic Specialty Nursing Programs are offered in conjunction with British Columbia Institute of Technology (BCIT).

Providence Health Care Perioperative Nursing ProgramThis is a six-month full time course for Registered Nurses, which is offered at St. Paul’s Hospital. It involves 430 hours of theory and 520 hours of clinical experience and covers general surgery, gynecology, plastics, urology, vascular and thoracic, orthopedics, neurosurgery, ophthalmology and ear nose and throat (ENT).
The Operating Room Nurses Association of Canada (ORNAC) has approved the program. Upon successful completion of the Program, graduates are awarded a Diploma in Perioperative Nursing and receive credits toward a baccalaureate degree.
